Statement on the Day of the Shining Star from the DPRK Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries

Soon we will celebrate the Day the Shining Star, the birth anniversary of the Great Leader comrade Kim Jong Il. As the February’s holiday approaches us day by day, we with stronger feelings of yearning recall the Great Man’s noble revolutionary life.
Indeed, the bright feature of our Motherland is unthinkable apart from the immortal exploits of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il, who safeguarded our Motherland and revolution by dint of Songun and provided an eternal foundation for the construction of the socialist power nation.
His august name as the sun has been the symbol of mightiness and dignity of Juche Korea and the history of his revolutionary activities a textbook of life and struggle for the Korean people and his behests and exploits have served as the driving force for achieving epoch-making miracles in defending socialism and building a thriving country.
With firm confidence in the victory of the socialist cause of Juche pioneered in Mt. Paektu, he had wisely guided the revolution and construction under the ever-changing whirlpool of the 20th and 21st centuries with his outstanding idea and rare leader1ship.
He indicated the path of achieving the victory of socialism with his brilliant wisdom that no other great man can follow in the world. His ideas and theories serve as guidelines giving the confidence in victory and encouragement to the world’s revolutionary peoples struggling for socialism.
Thus an international community cherish a deep emotion of reverence to the Great Generalissimo who created the world-startling miracles.
The immortal feats of the Great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il who guaranteed the eternal future of socialist Korea, devoting his all to the country's prosperity and people's happiness will be handed down through generations by the Korean nation, while his exploits performed for global independence through his energetic external activities will live forever in the hearts of the world progressive people.
